Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation
Financially assisting low-income individuals with life-threatening illnesses and contributing to worthy charitable organizations serving Southern Utah communities.
To assist with financial burdens, which usually are incurred by terminally ill patients, The Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation provides qualified applicants with “no strings attached” financial aid. In addition, the Foundation Board also provides funds to charitable service organizations not fully funded elsewhere.
The Mission of the Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation
The Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation was established and operates as a charitable organization with the dual purposes of monetarily assisting financially burdened individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness, and providing financial assistance to charitable service organizations serving Southern Utah communities. The foundation is a tax-exempt non-profit organization recognized under section 501(c3) of the Internal Revenue Code and was formed through an endowment from the Warthen Family.

A Legacy Of Giving
The Foundation has most often provided funds for an afflicted individual’s stay in the comfort of a Skilled Nursing Facility. In addition, we have purchased a wheelchair for a young, rapidly failing ALS sufferer; paid for babysitting so a young mother could sleep as she was caring for a terminally ill baby; purchased glasses for a dying gentleman who lost his; bought airfare for a family member to come quickly to his dying father’s side; and participated in many other opportunities to ease the pain and suffering of dying for those among us who are impoverished.
The Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation also has been able to give funds to Memory Matters, Tan’s Treats, Children of Hope Academy, and Hearsee – all of which are more than worthy recipients which provide needed services in the community.

The Application Process
The emotional and psychological impact terminal illness has on family members, friends, and relatives can be extremely devastating in many ways. To assist with financial burdens that usually accompany terminally ill patients, The Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation is here to provide qualified applicants with “no strings attached” financial aid.
Many worthy service organizations providing desperately needed assistance and care to members of Southern Utah communities are underfunded and, as a result, are not able to care for all those in need of their services. The Ted and Norma H. Warthen Foundation hopes to identify and financially assist specific charitable organizations so as to provide more consistent and expanded services.
If you know someone or an entity that might benefit from financial assistance, please click on the button below, then complete and submit the application. The Board of Directors will act on it as soon as possible. Thank you for your desire to help others in need.
